Course Description:
This course covers legal issues in physical therapy and the Tennessee
Physical Therapy Practice Act and Rules and Regulations. It meets
2 hours of the biennial continuing competence requirement for
4 hours of ethics and jurisprudence for physical therapists and
physical therapists assistants licensed in Tennessee. Jurisprudence
Online is approved by the Tennessee Licensing Board as Course
#003.
Course Objectives:

Describe the purpose of the Physical Therapy Practice Act and Rules
•
Recognize the types of disciplinary action that may be taken against a licensee
•
Describe offenses leading to disciplinary action
•
Explain the rules of supervision for Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA's) and other personnel
•
Describe the Practice Act and Rules related to the definition & scope of practice, disclosures, & administrative requirements
•
Recognize that there are legal issues and obligations in addition to the Practice Act and Rules that affect physical therapy practice
Cost:
The Jurisprudence course is $25 for TPTA members and $30 for non-members. Fees must be paid by credit card online. When the payment process is complete, you will receive an email containing a registration key and a link to begin the online course.
